We are happy to announce that ASEEL has made it to the final round of two different pitch competitions. Since launching in May 2019 of last year, the team has been engaged in funding opportunities to further their goals.
First, in February 2020, Abdullah Khalid, ASEEL’s chief legal advisor based in Glasgow, Scotland, presented the ASEEL platform to a panel of judges for the yearly Deliveroo Big Pitch in the UK in London. Deliveroo uses its Big Pitch to fund new tech startups, allowing business owners to present their ideas to the world’s leading tech investors. Out of thousands of applications, 6 were chosen as finalists. Abdullah presented ASEEL to the judges, received tailored feedback and collaboration points on areas where the business that could be improved. It was a great opportunity to expose our platform to tech investors and validate the idea on a global level.
In late April, ASEEL was chosen as an alternate finalist for Inventures. Inventures is a tech start-up competition that works to connect promising businesses with tech investors. While ASEEL did not get to pitch virtually to a panel of judges in Calgary, Canada during the Inventures Virtual Pitch event on June 3rd, being chosen as a finalist still means that we had to beat thousands of other applications to get this far.
Acceptances into the highest levels of these high-profile startup pitch events means that our platform is gaining exposure and momentum. We still have a long way to go, but we are energized by the responses that we’ve received so far. Help us find opportunities to fund our platform!
Together we will use this momentum, grow our platform, and economically empower men and women artisans in Afghanistan. For more information about ASEEL, check out or website or any of our social media channels.
Another succesful step towards our goal of creating 10,000 jobs in Afghanistan.
